CHER Maldives
CHER had to sell an island before it could sell a room. Baa Atoll carries the UNESCO name; Kamadhoo does not.
The brief
A Thai-run boutique guesthouse on an island most travellers have never heard of, competing against resorts with recognisable names and far larger marketing budgets. The site had to establish where Kamadhoo is, why Baa Atoll matters, and what island life there actually looks like, before a single room rate appeared.
What we built
- HomeGuests have never heard of Kamadhoo, so the page opens on the island and the Baa Atoll biosphere reserve before it shows a rate.
- AboutA Thai-run guesthouse needs a face. This page says who runs it and why island life here differs from a resort stay.
- RoomsFive tiers, from Economy Standard to the Penthouse, sit side by side, so a guest can compare before they message.
- RestaurantsTALAY and Shore Ga Cher Cafe each get a page, so dining sells to guests already on the island, not only to those booking a room.
- GalleryPhotography does the persuading that copy can't, and still loads quickly on island and roaming connections.
- ContactA direct enquiry path keeps the booking off third-party platforms and their commission.
Notable
Built as a static Next.js site on Cloudflare's edge network. Photography-heavy pages still resolve quickly over the connections guests are actually on, whether that is an island network or airport roaming.
